In 1897, the coffee roaster Juan Ferrer emigrated from Colombia to Seville to realise a lifelong dream: to make people happy with a perfect cup of coffee. He opened a modest store in the heart of the historic center of the city and named his café ‘Catunambú’, in honor of an indigenous tribe. Little did he know at that time that his passion for offering premium coffee to the most demanding customers and the foundations of his good work would continue today, more than 120 years later.
After all these years, at Catunambú we remain faithful to the values of our founder. With the same energy and love, our now 4th generation of master roasters stick to what they do best: choosing, roasting, blending and brewing the best coffee the traditional way.

Although the production techniques used by Ferrer have given the opportunity for more modern methods and technology, our family is dedicated to keeping the legacy and values of our founder alive.
